How do I use the CatholicWeb Printer utility?
Article
Getting Started
The most important part of the bulletin upload process is to make sure that your bulletin file is in the proper format. To ensure your bulletin file is in the proper format we have created a small utility that help you convert your document. Click here to download CatholicWeb Printer Utilility.

What does this utility do?
This utility will allow you to convert your bulletin to a format that makes it easy for us to make a PDF file from your bulletin. This small installation program will add a printer to your computer called "CatholicWeb". This printer is setup specifically for adding your bulletins to your web site or directory listing hosted by CatholicWeb.com. Unlike the other printer(s) already installed on your computer, which print your documents on paper, this printer will create a new bulletin file on your computer that can be used to upload to CatholicWeb. This ensures that all of the fonts, graphics and other formatting of your bulletin remain intact during the conversion process. This process will also automatically name your file with the correct name to ensure that CatholicWeb can effectively manage your bulletins.

Download and Install the Utility
Click here to download CatholicWeb Printer Utilility. When prompted, choose OPEN or Run.

This will open a small window that has 3 simple steps for you to follow.

1. Locate Church ID: When you click on Step 1 you will be taken to the CatholicWeb directory where you will be able to locate your Church ID. To find your ID, locate your church listing in the CatholicWeb directory. You will see your ID in parenthesis to the right of your parish name. Write that down.
2. Run Install: When you click RUN INSTALL you will be prompted for your church ID. Type in your Church ID and click OK. Wait for the "Printer Installed" message to appear. Click OK. This will ensure that your files are all named with your ID. The install will also create folder called CatholicWeb on your computer located at C:\CatholicWeb
3. Exit. Just click EXIT to close.

How do I convert and upload my file?
When you are ready to upload your bulletin file just follow these steps.

Convert
1. Open your bulletin in your word processing program.
2. Click Print. Change printer to "CatholicWeb" and click OK. This will create a file in the C:\CatholicWeb folder name with your church ID. For example, if your ID is 123, the file name will be 123.ps.

Upload
1. Login to your CatholicWeb account and click MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION in your Member Console.
2. Select UPLOAD YOUR CHURCH BULLETIN and click on BROWSE.
3. Locate your the file in C:\CatholicWeb and click UPLOAD.

After Uploading Your Bulletin

Now what? There is nothing that you will need to do after you have uploaded your bulletin. Every Sunday morning, we will run a small program that will convert and move all the bulletins that were uploaded during the week to the appropriate place. Our process will rename your bulletin file to that Sunday's date and then move your file to both your website and to your directory listing.
